What is a Registrar? |

Registrar is an organization or company that is accredited by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to provide registration services. Ventures Online provides registration services in partnership with ZPat.com (an affiliate company) and Tucows OpenSRS, as accredited ICANN registrar. |

How do I register a new Domain? |
| |
- If you are opening a Virtual Account with a new Domain, you will be provided with this option on our account signup form.
- If you just want to register a new domain, complete our online domain order form and select the Domain Type and Option of your choice.

How do I transfer my Domain Name from one Registrar to another? |
| |
|
| |
- Just complete our online form and select the transfer option. Your Domain Name contact receives an e-mail with instructions on approving the transfer. Failure to respond to the e-mail will cause the transfer request to be rejected. It is important that before submitting a request for change, that you validate the e-mail on record with your existing registrar is correct.

How long does it take? |
| |
- If you are registering a new Domain, it takes from 24 to 48 hours to propagate throughout the internet.
- If you are transferring your domain from another registrar, the timing varies depending on the registrar you are transferring from. Normally transfers can take up to a week, depending on how quickly you approve the transfer.

Is there any interruption in service when I transfer my Domain registrar? |
| |
- No, there is no impact to your web site and/or e-mail. When the domain is transferred, all information, including the nameserver information, is kept in tact. (Please note that we are talking about domain registrar transfer, not your domain account transfer, which is different).

Can I transfer my Domain to Ventures Online if it is about to expire? |
| |
- Ventures Online does not recommend making a Change of Registrar request on Domain Names that will expire in fewer than 2 weeks. Expired Domain Names can be placed "on hold" which would cause a site to become inaccessible.
